A video posted to TikTok captured a stray firework landing on the highway just outside Disneyland Park. The video, which was originally posted by @aubzbri on TikTok, showed the Disneyland fireworks from a view looking at the back side of the park.
The firework veers off course, passes just over the Team Disney building, and crashes on to Interstate 5. The shell hit the road just in front of several cars, exploding in a shower of sparks.

The cars appear to continue on, and we haven’t seen any accident reports referencing the wild firework. Thankfully, it seems everyone was OK. But, we bet those drivers had quite the story to tell when they got home.
Unfortunately, these types of incidents can happen with any fireworks show. We saw several similar wild fireworks over at Walt Disney World when Hollywood Studios used to regularly use their launch site just off World Drive. Those fireworks would land on the road somewhat often, and would also cause some issues in the nearby woods. Those problems are a big reason why Disney has abandoned regular nighttime fireworks at Hollywood Studios.
