Disney has submitted plans to the city of Anaheim that will pave the way for the future expansion of Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure. The plans, as reported by the Orange County Register, details what Disney plans to do with the utilities, temporary trailers, and parking lots impacted by the expansion.
These initial plans are an important first step that precede demolition and construction permits. Assuming everything moves smoothly, construction on the two new rides in Avengers Campus is expected to begin in 2025.
The expansion to Avengers Campus was announced at the 2024 D23 Expo. The expansion includes two new rides in Avengers Infinity Defense and Stark Flight Lab. The Avengers Infinity Defense is the E-ticket attraction that Disney first teased years ago, and will utilize a “scoop” ride vehicle that was shown at D23. Stark Flight Lab will take guests on two-person pods on a simulated flight made possible by a robotic arm.
It’s worth noting that the Avengers Campus expansion is not apart of the DisneylandForward plan that promised almost $2 billion in additions around Disneyland Resort.
