Disney has teased that the Epcot we all know today will be changing in a big way in the near future. Their blue sky concept art depicted drastic changes, though none that were set in stone. Now, new rumors suggest that a beer garden, a new Festival Center and more are coming to Future World at Epcot.
Previously, it was rumored that Innoventions West, Club Cool and the current Starbucks location would be demolished in favor of something new. In an update to those rumors, the folks over at WDWNT report that Future World will see a beer garden, a new Festival Center and more during the overhaul.
The Fountain of Nations may hit the chopping block in favor of the previously mentioned beer garden. The rumor also mentions a water trail with several water features will lead guests to The Seas. As of today, it’s believed that Innoventions East will mostly still remain albeit with some changes.
Got all that? The notion of the rumors has been confirmed by other Disney insiders, suggesting that the projects may be (or about to be) officially approved. Granted, things can always change up until the official opening of the project.
It’s difficult to assess any of these plans without any concept art or additional details. A dedicated festival space may make a lot of sense given Epcot’s direction into hosting festivals nearly all year long. However, guests who appreciated or loved the Epcot of old will be disappointed to see some original elements falling in favor of even more food and drink options.
What do you think of these new rumors?
