Review: La Creperie de Paris in Epcot’s France Pavilion

Updated:

Epcot’s expansion to the France Pavilion introduced a new ride (Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure) and a brand new restaurant called La Creperie de Paris. We think the ride is an outstanding addition to Epcot, but how does this crepe restaurant stack up against other dining options?

La Creperie de Paris offers guests either a table-service experience or a quick-service window for diners on the go. The pick-up window is technically called Crepes A Emporter by La Creperie de Paris, but we’re going to refer to it as the “crepe window” for simplicity.

Eager to try out the crepes as soon as possible, we headed straight for the window. A line of about 40 guests stood between us and a menu of crepes, hard ciders, sparkling drinks and more. A line this long must be a good sign, right?

The crepe menu contains a selection of sweet and savory options. As a note, the cast member said they do not allow any order modifications. It’s tough luck if you want to mix chocolate and berries.

Feeling sweet, we opted for the popular Housemade Hazelnut & Chocolate Spread Crepe. We also went for the Sweet Hard Cider (Cidre Doux) and a Mimosa.

La Creperie de Paris

Let’s start with the star of the show – the crepe!

Honestly, we had low expectations after having some mediocre Epcot crepes in the past. Those fears were quickly put to rest as we loved the Hazelnut & Chocolate Spread Crepe. The crepe was light, wasn’t too sweet and had an outstanding chocolate taste that didn’t overpower. There’s a lot of chocolate, but it never felt like too much chocolate.

On to the drinks where things are a mixed bag.

The Sweet Hard Cider (Cidre Doux) was delicious. It was extremely refreshing, particularly on a hot day, and tasted like the finest apple juice. It’s a great cider for fans of a sweet drink.

The Mimosa on the other hand was completely forgettable. It’s basic and falls well behind other drinks in Epcot. We’d much rather have one of the mimosas over at Shimmering Sips during the Food & Wine Festival. We wouldn’t recommend this option.

Overall, we’re big fans of the quick-service portion of La Creperie de Paris. The crepes are a big improvement over ones that were previously served in Epcot, and the menu offers some fun varieties. Epcot’s long list of delectable dessert options just got a bit longer.
