Disney is currently in the process of refurbishing guest rooms at several resorts around Walt Disney World. As the renovations have been completed, some guests are reporting that large pump bottle dispensers with shampoo, conditioner and body wash are replacing the original toiletries.
The photo shown at the top of this page is courtesy of PortOrleans.org and shows the mounted dispensers in one of the new Port Orleans French Quarter rooms. If you’re familiar with the resort, the photo is apparently from a room located in Building 2.
However, conflicting reports have come in from guests staying at the resorts where the mounted dispensers have been seen. Some have them, others don’t.
For what it’s worth, the dispensers weren’t in the renovated rooms in the Yacht Club Resort during our stay in January 2018. It is possible the dispensers are only being added to the value and moderate resorts, but there haven’t been consistent accounts from guests staying at those resorts.
The idea of wall-mounted dispensers has been a polarizing one. Some like the idea of Disney reducing waste (think of how many individual bottles they go through and how many guests take some home). Others don’t like the idea of having their toiletries potentially accessible, despite the locked top.
Will Disney roll these out to more guest rooms at Disney World?
