Walt Disney World Issues a Statement on Hurricane Ian

Walt Disney World has issued a new statement on Hurricane Ian.

“We are thinking of our neighbors across Florida. We will get through this together and will be there to help our cast members and community.

As we keep safety in mind, our theme parks and other operating areas remain closed today while crews assess the impact of the storm and clear debris. Thank you to all of our cast members who continue to care for the thousands of guest staying at our Disney Resort hotels.”

Early reports from around Walt Disney World show minor damage. Trees have been knocked down and some damage was spotted at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Hurricane Ian’s wind damage appears to be minimal, but the damage caused by water and flooding has devastated many areas in Florida.

All Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs are closed on Thursday, September 29, 2022. Disney has not announced their operating plans for the remainder of the week at this time.
