Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind recently opened and is already thrilling guests at EPCOT. The coaster has been an immediate hit and is praised for its unique movement and outstanding soundtrack (read our spoiler-free review). But, the attraction begins well before guests board the coaster.
Cosmic Rewind is set in the Wonders of Xandar Pavilion where EPCOT guests visit to learn more about the Xandarian people. Walt Disney Imagineering has provided a behind-the-scenes look at Cosmic Rewind’s queue and the Wonders of Xandar Pavilion.
It’s always nice when Walt Disney Imagineering pulls the curtain back on their design decisions. Here, they reveal how they tried to create a space that sort of feels like a museum, sort of feels like an exhibit, and sort of feels like one of the pavilions at World Showcase.
We enjoyed walking through the Wonders of Xandar Pavilion before boarding the coaster. Admittedly, the queue was moving quick during our visit and we didn’t have a ton of time to soak in all the details Walt Disney Imagineering created. We do think the queue aesthetically feels very similar to other EPCOT experiences (Space 220, Test Track) and could have benefited from a different color scheme.
What do you think of the Wonders of Xandar Pavilion at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind?
