Video: Testing of the ‘Points of Light’ continues on Spaceship Earth

Updated:

Disney is in the process of testing the new ‘Points of Light’ on Spaceship Earth. Guests driving by or staying near Epcot have noticed late-night tests taking place over the past week.

Spaceship Earth has been spotted lighting up in extremely bright colors that were cycled rapidly during the test.

Of course, this is not what Spaceship Earth will look like when its new nighttime lighting package debuts. These tests appear to be focused on weeding out any lights that don’t work and testing their color ranges.

The concept art depicts softer color transitions and even some twinkling lights.

Guests should expect to see Spaceship Earth’s new lighting package debut around Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary on October 1.
