Update on the new restaurant that’s coming to Epcot’s Japan Pavilion

A new signature dining experience is coming to the Japan Pavilion at Epcot. Located on the far side of the pavilion, the restaurant is expected to have a theme that connects guests to nature and Japanese art.

Thanks to Blog Mickey we have an update on the construction. So far, it looks like the area has been mostly cleared and work is continuing to prepare for the foundation. The trees that were in this area have been removed and equipment has been moved into place to build out the structure. The new restaurant should connect to the side of the existing structure that currently houses one of the pavilion’s retail locations.

The area highlighted in red in the aerial photo below shows where the new signature dining restaurant will sit.

No official opening date for the signature dining experience has been announced at this time.
