Crews have sealed up the ride building for TRON Lightcycle Run at the Magic Kingdom. It’s believed work inside the building will be paused as Disney moves the planned opening date out of 2021.
The always great @bioreconstruct documented the wall being sealed up around the TRON coaster’s track.
The material used to close up the area around the track doesn’t look temporary. Disney appears to be making sure the interior is protected from the elements for an extended time now that the opening has been pushed back.
We can also see the main entrance for TRON Lightcycle Run has been enclosed via @bioreconstruct.
Work on the TRON coaster’s exterior canopy will likely continue as many of the materials are already on site. Disney will want to get the exterior into a state where it can sit idle for the next several months without being damaged.
TRON Lightcycle Run was notably absent from Disney’s list of 21 reasons to visit Walt Disney World in 2021. So too was the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster over at Epcot. Though Disney hasn’t made an official statement, it’s believed both attractions have been bumped from 2021 to 2022.
