Refurbishment work on the Liberty Square Riverboat has been taking place for several months, with updates being performed on the boat itself to replace and repair several items. Now, the refurbishment is also targeting the track the boat runs on located in the Rivers of America.
As the summer starts to wind down, workers have been seen constructing the temporary dam that will be used to drain a portion of the river for work on the track that the Riverboat runs on.
The photo above, courtesy of Blog Mickey, shows divers in the water setting up the structure for the temporary dam. More views can be seen over at WDWNT.com, including the one below that shows the initial progress made on the dam.
After a lengthy refurbishment, the Liberty Square Riverboat is expected to reopen in Fall 2018.
