The Liberty Square Riverboat has returned to the Magic Kingdom

Updated:

The Liberty Square Riverboat has returned to the Rivers of America at the Magic Kingdom. The familiar riverboat was spotted testing around the river ahead of its expected reopening later this week.

We can see the Liberty Square Riverboat’s return thanks to this great photo from @Touchdown on WDWMagic.

Liberty Square Riverboat

The Liberty Square Riverboat was removed from the Rivers of America when the water was drained back in November 2020. Crews worked on the track the riverboat runs on and made repairs around the riverbed. Water started refilling the Rivers of America in January as the refurbishment wrapped up.

It’s great to see the Liberty Square Riverboat back in its normal home. Disney has drained the waterway a couple times over the past few years, which always makes the area look a bit sad and strange. Having the Rivers of America refilled and the Liberty Square Riverboat moving once again adds great kinetic energy to this side of the Magic Kingdom.
