SpaceX’s Starman honored in a chalk drawing at Epcot

SpaceX’s recent launch of their Falcon Heavy Rocket captivated the world, sending Starman (a mannequin in a SpaceX suit) and Elon Musk’s Tesla roadster to space. With the Festival of the Arts currently taking place at Epcot, one artist decided to honor SpaceX with an awesome chalk drawing.

The Festival of the Arts at Epcot is designed to be a tribute to (you guessed it) the arts. Meanwhile, Epcot’s original mission was to celebrate human achievement, education and the progress of technology. Combining those two ideas, a chalk drawing of one of the coolest and most impressive rocket launches in history, seems like a perfect fit at Epcot.

Epcot’s future remains uncertain beyond a “Blue Sky” rendering no one should take seriously. No one is suggesting more corporate partnerships, but one between SpaceX and Epcot could make a lot of sense. Maybe one day there will be a larger SpaceX representation beyond just a chalk drawing.

If you’re attending the Festival of the Arts, make sure you walk around the many paths in Future World. Chalk drawings have been a regular feature and are created daily if the weather cooperates.
