Rivers of America drained for Liberty Square Riverboat refurbishment

Updated:

Recently, dams were installed on the Magic Kingdom’s Rivers of America in order for refurbishment work to begin on the track for the Liberty Square Riverboat. With the dams now in place, some water has been drained from a portion of the river, exposing the track that the Riverboat runs on.

Thanks to WDWNT.com, we can see both the exposed track and the fact the river isn’t as deep as you might think. Workers now have easy access to the track to make any necessary repairs without having to do so beneath the water.

The refurbishment is expected to be completed by Fall 2018, but we’ve already seen the anticipated completion date delayed earlier this year. The project appears to be nearing its final stages, meaning an opening date should be announced in the near future.
