Prices have increased for reusable shopping bags at Walt Disney World

Updated:

Guests have spotted yet another price increase at Walt Disney World. Shortly after prices went up significantly for Annual Passholders and prices increased for guests planning to use overnight parking at their hotel, the cost for reusable shopping bags has also gone up.

Previously, guests would pay $1 for a small bag, $1.50 for a medium bag and $2 for a large bag. Now, those prices have all increased by one dollar and now sit at $2, $2.50 and $3 for the various bags.

Price increases at Walt Disney World are never easy to stomach. The recent rate hike for Annual Passholders exceeded 20% for some tiers and will force out-of-state residents to completely reevaluate the value of their Annual Pass. This rate increase may not seem like a big issue (it’s only $1 more, right?), but it feels fairly off-putting.

The reusable bags, which are one portion of Disney’s push to reduce single-use plastics, are supposed to be about conservation and being friendly to the environment. Instead, this price increase weakens and cheapens that position.
