Another significant change is coming to the entrance of a Walt Disney World theme park. The personalized bricks that lead up to the entrance of the Magic Kingdom will start being removed in the near future.
The bricks, which will also be removed at the Transportation and Ticket Center, were sold to guests in the 1990’s. Originally, they were only scheduled to be on display until 2011. Their removal comes as Walt Disney World adjusts the bag check, security screening areas and guest walkways into the Magic Kingdom.
Guests who purchased a brick will not be able to receive the original stone, but they can order a 6″ commemorative version for just $10. Those who are interested in the commemorative brick can contact guest services at the Magic Kingdom or call 407-828-2701 with the name and hometown of the individual who purchased the brick. A voucher will then be issued in order to buy the commemorative brick.
The bricks currently make up a large area of the entrance to the Magic Kingdom. Their removal should signal that Disney has some significant changes in mind when it comes to the guest arrival experience at the theme park. Details on those changes have not been announced at this time.
