New restaurant at Epcot’s Japan pavilion, Takumi-Tei, will open in Summer 2019

An official opening window has been announced for the brand new restaurant that’s coming to the Japan pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase. The restaurant, named Takumi-Tei (which means house of the artisan), will open in Summer 2019 and will offer an upscale dinner menu with signature items and cocktails.

Disney released a few details about the menu:

The upscale dinner menu will highlight wagyu beef in a sublime setting, and guests interested in the ultimate experience will be able to indulge in a multi-course tasting menu featuring traditional tea service. Signature cocktails and premium sake will be available along with a wine and craft beer menu.

Disney also revealed there will be a special Chef’s Table in an area called the Water Room, which is pictured at the top of this article.

A location offering wagyu beef at Epcot is certainly noteworthy. Guests will need to book reservations well in advance of their trip and should expect a signature dining experience.

Takumi-Tei will be operated by Mitsukoshi USA, the same group that operates the restaurants and kiosks already in the Japan pavilion.
