A blast from the past has returned to Epcot’s main entrance! Disney officially unveiled the new fountain that will welcome guests into the park just in front of Spaceship Earth. The fountain’s design is a reimagined version of the same fountain that first welcomed guests back in 1982.
While the fountain is a close replica of the original’s three pylon design, the base has been altered slightly to allow for an enhanced nighttime lighting package.
These are the types of changes that Disney fans celebrate at Walt Disney World. Here, Disney brought back a piece of the past and did so in a way that both honors the original and improves the current experience. Epcot’s main entrance now has much more room, better landscaping and a great tribute to the park’s past.
Additional landscaping work is expected in the main entrance area in the future, but for now guests can enjoy the less congested space and new fountain.
