New aerial photos reveal that a lot of work has already been completed on the TRON coaster that’s coming to the Magic Kingdom. They also reveal just how much of the Tomorrowland Speedway track has been removed.
Thanks as always to @bioreconstruct for these photos.
We can now see that additional concrete foundation work has been completed and that some track footings have already been installed. Zooming in, the curve of the track can be seen in the positioning of the footings.
Another aerial shows what the construction site looks like just behind Space Mountain.
Assuming the Magic Kingdom’s TRON coaster project follows the same schedule as the original in Shanghai, the track should be installed before the building goes up around it.
Meanwhile, we also have a better look at just how significant the changes to the Tomorrowland Speedway have been. A large chunk of the track has been removed to accommodate the work on the TRON coaster and the Walt Disney World Railroad.
The tall trees being left in place near the middle of the photo may indicate that the track will follow a similar layout once it’s reinstalled.
As you can see, there’s a lot of progress on the overall changes coming to Tomorrowland. We can’t wait to see how the finished TRON project looks ahead of its opening in 2021.
