Walt Disney World is starting to roll outs its celebration for the 100th anniversary of the Walt Disney Company. At EPCOT, a new nightly light show will come to Spaceship Earth that will include homages to the ‘Wonderful World of Disney’ television show and more.
Jason Read, show lighting designer principal for Walt Disney Imagineering, spoke about the new 100th anniversary show.
Via Disney:
“The Show Lighting Team at Walt Disney Imagineering has been amazed at our guests’ reaction to the nightly shows on Spaceship Earth. We’ve helped celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World, EPCOT’s 40th and the park’s signature festivals. Now, we’re excited to have Spaceship Earth ring in the biggest celebration yet, the 100th Anniversary of the Walt Disney Company.”
The spectacle of lights honoring Disney’s 100th is expected later in 2023. No specific dates were announced.
The new 100th anniversary show is just the latest to grace the lights on Spaceship Earth. Previously, Disney has rolled out shows for its festivals and for different seasonal events.
