Minnie Vans will now take resort guests to Orlando International Airport, but it’ll cost you

Updated:

Disney World is expanding their Minnie Van transportation service beyond the boundaries of their property. As seen on WDWInfo.com, Minnie Vans will soon be able to transport guests at select Disney World resorts to the Orlando International Airport at the cost of $150 per vehicle.

Additional information can be found in the tweet below:

In summary, Minnie Vans will provide an alternative method of getting to the airport for guests who either don’t want or don’t enjoy the complimentary Disney’s Magical Express service, or who don’t want to book an Uber. However, the Minnie Van service still won’t be able to pick up guests from the airport, but that may be subject to change depending on the success (profit) of guests using Minnie Vans to return to the airport.

The price point, $150 per vehicle, may be a bit shocking. Currently, guests can travel around Disney World property in a Minnie Van for $20 per vehicle, per trip. I can personally vouch that the experience is an extremely pleasant and convenient one that assisted in getting us to an early morning reservation at a different resort from where we were staying. But that was at a $20 price point that was comparable, albeit a bit more expensive than an Uber. The $150 cost to get to the airport is far more expensive than even the nicest methods of ride-sharing transportation.

Disney’s Magical Express does have its flaws including long waits going to several resorts and arriving at the airport earlier than you’d like. With time being one of the most valuable assets during a vacation, Disney may recognize an opportunity to provide a new service in hopes that resort guests will value their vacation time so much that they’ll pay above and beyond for it.
