The giant barges that brought the Harmonious nighttime spectacular to life at EPCOT are slowly being dismantled. Recently, one of the taco barges (as they’re affectionately called by Disney fans) was hauled backstage and is now being broken down into pieces.

Gradually, all four of the taco barges and the three barges that make up the center ring barge will be brought backstage and dismantled. Disney will likely try and salvage as many components from the barges as possible to help offset some of their massive original investment.
With the Harmonious barges meeting their maker, what’s next for nighttime spectaculars at EPCOT?
Currently, EPCOT Forever has returned (again) to serve as the bridge between Harmonious and whatever show is next. Disney has released some details on the new show and some relatively vague concept art pictured below.
The new show is expected to debut at EPCOT in 2023.
