FastPass+ coming to Smugglers Run on February 19, 2020

Updated:

Guests visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be able to enjoy Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run with a FastPass+ reservation beginning February 19, 2020. The change was announced by Disney in a move that will also alter the FastPass+ tiers at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

The new top tier will allow guests to pick between either Smugglers Run or Slinky Dog Dash, depending on availability. The remaining attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios – including Toy Story Mania, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster and the Tower of Terror – will be available to select in the lower tier.

No changes involving Rise of the Resistance have been announced at this time. The virtual boarding group system continues to operate for Rise of the Resistance as Disney attempts to meet the demand of large crowds while attempting to improve the attraction’s uptime. The ride has unfortunately experienced plenty of issues since opening and continues to have extended closures and delays.

Overall, this change may make it a bit easier to secure a FastPass+ reservation for the ride you want at Disney’s Hollywood Studios due to the altered tiers. However, it is worth noting that both Tier 1 attractions have height requirements (38 inches) that could prevent families with small children from riding.
