Disney World issues a new update for annual passholders and guests on payment plans

Disney has released a new update for Walt Disney World annual passholders during the COVID-19 pandemic. Previously, Disney announced that guests with an annual pass would have their passes extended by however many days the parks are closed. Now, they’ve announced a partial refund option as well as suspended payments for guests using a monthly payment plan.

The information below can be found here on the Walt Disney World website.

Annual Passholder – Paid in Full

Option 1: Your annual pass will be extended by however many days the parks are closed. The new expiration date will be updated on your account whenever the parks reopen.

Option 2: In lieu of an extension of their passes, guests can opt to receive a partial refund for the theme park closure period. Additional information will be released for this option in the near future.

Annual Passholder – Monthly Payment Plan

Things are a bit more complicated for annual passholders on monthly payment plans.

Disney’s decision to allow partial refunds and suspended payments indicates they forecast Walt Disney World remaining closed for an extended period of time. Keep in mind this is a fluid situation and Disney is still setting up the necessary systems and procedures to make these changes happen.
