Construction update on the Ratatouille ride and Disney Skyliner at Epcot

The new Ratatouille ride located in the France Pavilion at Epcot is progressing rather quickly. New aerial photos courtesy of WDWMagic show that the building’s exterior is nearing completion, and that the route for the Disney Skyliner will come awfully close to France.

As you can see in the photo at the top of the page, the exterior of the Ratatouille building will be a “go-away” green color that combined with some trees should mostly hide the large show building from World Showcase.

The photos also show that the route for the Disney Skyliner transportation system will have gondolas traveling right behind the France Pavilion.

Now that guests will be traveling over areas that are for backstage use, will Disney theme or change these locations?

One specific area of concern has to do with the Eiffel Tower, which is positioned on top of one of the buildings in the Pavilion to complete the forced perspective trick. The perspective trick won’t work with guests able to walk around where the Tower is located for the Ratatouille ride.

The Skyliner is expected to open in 2019 and the Ratatouille attraction is expected to open by 2021.
