Construction update on the Disney Wish, Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship

Updated:

Construction on Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship, the Disney Wish, is progressing at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany. The Disney Wish is scheduled to make its maiden voyage in June 2022, but there’s a lot of work left to be completed before that date.

Disney Cruise Line shared an update on how construction is coming along and what the Disney Wish currently looks like.

Bow Installation

This bow section, or block, is just one of almost 100 blocks that will make up the Disney Wish. As of the date of this article, Disney Cruise Line says just over 30 blocks are left to be installed.

It’s crazy to see how they build these massive ships. Modern cruise ships are essentially skyscrapers at sea, which requires an incredible amount of skill and labor to create.

It’s also wild to see just how much work is left with less than a year before the maiden voyage. The ship’s skeleton is finally nearing completion and attention will shift into overdrive on the ship’s interior.

The Disney Wish will welcome guests for the first time on June 9, 2022 for its maiden voyage.
