Walt Disney World will no longer offer free MagicBands to new or renewing annual passholders. The complimentary MagicBands will end with any purchases or renewals made August 16, 2021 or later.
Disney’s announcement promoted the new Disney MagicMobile service where guests can perform many of the MagicBands’ functions through their iPhone, Apple Watch or select Android devices.
Annual passholders will continue to receive discounts on MagicBand purchases. MagicBands will continue to be apart of the Walt Disney World experience, and Disney notes new designs will continue to be released.
This change follows an earlier announcement where Disney eliminated complimentary MagicBands for resort guests on January 1, 2021.
