Recently, it was reported that Ample Hills Creamery at Walt Disney World would be permanently closing. A spokesperson from the company said that the location at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort would not reopen and the new location announced for Disney Springs was cancelled. Now, the sign at the Boardwalk location has been covered up.
Don’t look ice cream lovers. This is one sad sight.

Meanwhile, Ample Hills Creamery has been removed from the Walt Disney World website. The location no longer appears as a dining option for Disney’s Boardwalk area.
Trying to visit the old URL for the Ample Hills Creamery page produces the following “Page Not Found” message with Donald Duck.
In case there was any doubt, the covered sign and removed website page confirms that Ample Hills Creamery will not be returning to Walt Disney World. The company’s bankruptcy filing and eventual sale effectively ended their relationship with Disney.
What will move into the former Ample Hills Creamery location? That’s yet to be decided or announced. Third-party vendors are reportedly having a difficult time in Walt Disney World due to reduced attendance and the tourism industry being turned on its head.
We’d love to see another unique dining option taking over this prime real estate. Maybe another fun dessert option like donuts? At the very least, we hope whatever eventually moves into this space will capture the taste buds as well as Ample Hills Creamery.
