Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro provided a sneak peak at Epcot’s new Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind coaster during IAAPA’s virtual conference. The image is the first look inside the enormous ride building that was added behind the old Universe of Energy building.
The track features tight turns that will be enhanced by the controlled spinning of the ride vehicles.
It’s difficult to form any firm opinions of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind based on the track alone. Like Space Mountain, the ride will feel far more intense without any lights. The controlled spinning of the cars and the added scenes near the track will also add to the experience.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind was originally expected to open in 2021, but a delay into 2022 seems likely.
